A vast array of new opportunities awaits the latest batch of students from the Arellano University International Nursing Program as they transfer to Edith Cowan University in Perth, Western Australia to finish their nursing degree. Glea started her nursing classes last August 2022 while the other students namely, Nicole, Dianna, Adrienne, Eunice, Rea, Jessica, and Diane entered during the February 2023 intake.

In its effort to provide world-class education, Arellano University established a partnership with Edith Cowan University in 2009. ECU is a premier university known for its innovative simulation programs and state-of-the-art facilities that cater to a large number of international students from different nations including the Philippines. The eight students completed their first two or three years at AU Legarda Campus under the AU International Nursing Program. After another two years of study at ECU, they are entitled to apply for registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia to practice as a registered nurse upon graduating with an Australian Bachelor of Science in Nursing Degree.

The smooth transition was made possible by the ECU officials who guide the AU-INP students from enrollment to their clinical placements, where they will be exposed to the nursing practices in an Australian healthcare setting. Moreover, the growing number of AU-INP alumni who are also graduates of ECU and are now permanent residents and citizens of Australia increased their social connections despite being in a foreign country. For these students, it is a chance to explore new cultures while gaining a world-class academic experience.
