Arellano University (AU) and Alderson Broaddus University (ABU) have developed strong ties ever since the launch of the International Nursing Program in 2006. It remains the only one-of-its-kind in the Philippines that provides international nursing education, allowing students to pursue a US BSN degree and graduate with an American diploma.
The opportunity that awaits these students taking on the US pathway is now being realized by the recent graduates at Alderson Broaddus University in Philippi, West Virginia, USA. Despite the challenges brought by the COVID-19 pandemic, Excelsis Labrador made it and earned her US BSN degree from ABU in May 2021. The following year, Danielle Sevilla also successfully completed her final year. Both students are now registered nurses in the US after passing the NCLEX-RN exam a few months after their graduation. More recently, Justin Lanag received his US BSN degree in May 2023.
Now, eleven AU-INP students are preparing to transfer to ABU to continue their final year of nursing studies for SY 2023-2024. These students experienced the standards of nursing education using the US curriculum while studying for three years under the International Nursing Program. They will also be granted a BSN degree after completing the final year requirements, similar to other ABU alumni who are now gaining recognition in their respective nursing fields in the US.
